I'm riding in THE CHRONIC 33
At his heaviest ‘Clarkie’ weighed in at 125kg, he went for a ride with his mate and struggled to ride his bike up College Hill in Auckland. Embarrassed, he set about changing his lifestyle and managed to shed 47kgs, he was selected and represented New Zealand at the age group world triathlon championships 12 months later. Clarkie is driven by a life mission to help people become better than they think they can be. Working for the last 17 years in the youth justice world using sport as a vehicle he has shown young people that their possibilities are only limited by their imagination. He loves endurance sport and has competed in Triathlon across all distances including Ironman and has completed a 102Km Ultra marathon.
This Guinness World Record attempt will really extend anything that he has been involved in physically or mentally as well as raising awareness for some great causes. When not on the bike you will find Clarkie hanging with his whanau or on the sidelines of a football pitch or a running track coaching and mentoring young people.
Good on you
